Not the Perfect Path—Just the Real One
Product management paths aren’t linear. And that’s okay.

I started my career with almost zero idea of what great product work looked like.

My only measure of success?

How many hours I worked and how exhausted I felt by the end of the day.

I didn’t know what my job as a product manager was supposed to be—

so I listened to anyone who had an opinion.

I led projects and was told it was product.

I led product and was pushed into project updates.

I learned business and was told I wasn’t technical.

I learned technical and was told business mattered more.

And when I looked online, all I saw was advice built for B2B startups.

Nothing felt made for me, or my reality.

All along the way, I kept thinking: Am I doing this wrong?
